Terms of service

1. The service

KeptValid: See which supplier documents have expired or expire in the next 60 days: B-BBEE certificates and affidavits, tax compliance PINs, COIDA letters and insurance. Free, no sign-up. The free tier and the paid plans are described on the pricing page, which forms part of these terms.

2. Accounts

You sign in with an email link or a Google account, and you are responsible for that email account. One person per account.

3. Your content

What you create is yours; we claim no ownership of it. If you share something publicly you give us permission to display it where you share it. You are responsible for what you publish: nothing you don't have the right to, nothing unlawful, and no personal data about others without their consent. We may remove public content that breaks these terms or the law.

4. Acceptable use

• Do not try to access other people's private work or accounts, or to get around limits such as the free plan's limits.
• Do not use automated means to create accounts or to load the service beyond what a person would.
• Do not use AI features to generate unlawful content or content that breaks Anthropic's usage policies.

5. Plans, payment and cancellation

Paid plans are billed in advance by Stripe, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically until canceled. Prices may change with notice; a change applies from your next renewal. Cancel any time from the billing portal in your account: you keep the plan until the end of the period you have paid for, then the account returns to the free tier. Refunds are covered by the refunds and cancellation policy. Prices exclude VAT and sales taxes where they apply.

Founding member pricing. Until 30 Jun 2027, 23:59 UTC, or until 25 founding subscriptions are active, whichever comes first, new Pro subscriptions are offered at founding prices (R745 a month or R7,450 a year) instead of the normal prices (R1,490 a month or R14,900 a year). A founding price stays the same for as long as that subscription stays active, including while we retry a late payment. You keep it when you switch between founding monthly and yearly billing. When the subscription ends, the founding price ends with it. Founding prices cannot be combined with promotion codes.

6. AI features

AI features use a third-party model. They can be wrong and don't know your situation. Check what they produce before you rely on it.

7. No professional advice

KeptValid is a tool. It is not financial, legal, medical or other professional advice, and decisions you make using it are yours.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available and back up the database, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, paid subscribers get at least 60 days' notice and a refund of any unused prepaid period.

9. Warranty and liability

The service is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or consumer rights that apply where you live.

10. Termination

You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms; where reasonable we will warn you first.

11. Privacy

How we handle data is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and disputes go to the courts located in Johannesburg, except that consumers keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country they live in.

13. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and account holders are told by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
